Human Rights training and advice in the North West

Human Rights Training
Next month the Northern Ireland Human Rights Commission (NIHRC) will be working with the Commissioner for Children and Young People (NICCY) to deliver training sessions in the North West. This is a great opportunity for community groups to engage directly with both the NIHRC and NICCY. The sessions have been planned in partnership with our community partner’ the North West Community Network and will take place at the Waterside Theatre’ Glendermott Road in Derry/Londonderry on 12th November and on 28th November. Both sessions will start at 10am and end at 12:30pm.
Session 1 (12th November)
Introduction to rights
Gain an insight into what rights are and the international’ regional and local legal frameworks.
Session 2 (28th November)
Applied rights – skills practice
Using real life case scenarios’ develop and practice the skills required to identify rights and apply a rights based approach to resolving cases.

Human Rights Advice
The Northern Ireland Human Rights Commission and the Commissioner for Children and Young People will be holding an Advice Clinic in Derry/Londonderry on Thursday 28th November. This is a great opportunity to seek advice and information from both organisations and is being facilitated and promoted by the North West Community Network. The Advice Clinic will be held at the Waterside Theatre’ Glendermott Road from 1pm to 3pm and is open to all Network members and also members of the public.
